Asian hot shots film festival

Description:As before, we aimed to bring you some of the best in independent new Asian cinema. We believe that a fresh voice beyond the mainstream and in contrast to established stereotypes is needed — in Berlin as anywhere else in the world. And thus, our selection would always mean an invitation to take a closer look, for us in the West to understand the realities in the Asian region better and to meet those countries and communities on their own terms. The films AHSB has showcased in recent editions were always distinct, and at times subtly vexing, for the benefit of those who like being challenged. However, without sufficient funds to give you the kind of festival experience you have come to expect and that you, our audience, deserve, AHSB cannot continue in that same vein. That said, the festival does not cease to exist nor does the team behind it disband.
